How to get to Wieliczka Salt Mine

The mine lies in the town of Wieliczka, southeast of Kraków. Most visitors take the SKA1 regional train from Kraków Główny to Wieliczka Rynek-Kopalnia. The ride takes about 25 minutes, and the station is a short walk from the mine. The alternatives are bus 304 and a car. If you would rather not plan the trip yourself, compare the Wieliczka Salt Mine tours from Kraków first.

The mine has more than one entrance, and they are not at the same address. The tourist route starts at the Daniłowicz shaft. The Miners' Route starts at the Regis shaft. Know which one your ticket uses before you choose a bus stop or a car park. You can buy the entry itself on the Wieliczka Salt Mine tickets page.

The line

The fare

A single ticket at the full fare costs PLN 7.50 in 2026. The integrated 70-minute ticket for the Kraków region costs PLN 10, or PLN 5 reduced. It covers the Kraków stations and Wieliczka, but not Kraków Airport.

The timetable

The timetable changes by period, and departure minutes differ from day to day. Look up the train for your date before you leave, and check the departure time for your date.
